Call for submissions Prémices 2010-2011Deadline for the receipt of submissions: May 1st 2010
AXENÉO7 invites emerging artistes living in the Outaouais region to submit a proposal by May 1st 2010 for Prémices 2010-2011. Prémices is a curated exhibition reserved for artists who are at the beginning of their careers and who live in the Outaouais region. After the initial call for submissions, the curator makes a preliminary selection, followed by studio visits to confirm the final selection of artists. The selected participants will present their first exhibition at AXENÉO7 in 2010/11. The exhibition process is followed through from start to finish by the curator and includes a small publication with a critical text for each artist. For the purposes of this call for submissions, emerging artists are defined as those who have completed their preliminary studies, are at the beginning of their artistic production and who have not had their first professional exhibition experience. All submissions should include: • A curriculum vitae. • An artist statement and / or a specific project description • 10-15 digital images on CD Rom or 35 mm slides of recent works.* • VHS or DVD video documentation (NTSC format), if applicable (maximum 10 minutes). • A list of visual support material details (title, year, dimensions and medium). • A self-addressed stamped envelope. * Submissions must include hard copies of all written documents. * For digital images, submit only MAC compatible jpg files in RGB format at a resolution of 72 dpi, with a maximum size of 0.5 MB and a maximum of 1024 x 768.
